New arrivals at the Curraghs Wild Life ParkThis week, John and Simon present the last edition of Countryside in the current series.

Simon heads north to find out how this year’s wheat harvest compares to previous years from Robert Morrey.

And John finds out how the inaugural Kirk Michael produce show went, and speaks to St John’s resident jam maker, Audrey Corrin, about the fruit available in the Island’s hedgerows this time of year.

There’s also news of some new arrivals at the Curraghs Wildlife Park, and a chance for you to see and hear bats in their natural environment with members of the Manx Bat Group this Saturday.

This week’s programme is a Royal Manx Agricultural Show special.

Held at Sarward Farm in Sulby on Friday and Saturday, the event attracted thousands of visitors from all around the Isle of Man.

Simon and John were on the show field at what is seen as the premier event the Island’s farming calendar, and spoke to some of the people taking part in the show, and the big winners in the 2010 grand parade.
