On this week’s programme, Roger will be taking a look at the local food market. The drive to encourage more people to make the switch from imported products to local produce is highlighted throughout the year by the ‘I Love Manx’ campaign, which was founded nearly a decade ago now. But what demand is there for Manx produce, what‘s available, and can local producers compete on price?
To discuss these issues, Roger will be joined in the studio by Minister for the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture Phil Gawne, President of the Manx National Farmers’ Union Ray Craine, Chief Executive of the Manx Fish Producers’ Organisation Tom Bryan-Brown, and local producer Jenny Devereau of Staarvey Farm.
Sunday Opinion can be heard at manxradio.com and on the station's AM and FM services, just after the midday news. If you missed the programme, or want to hear any part of it again, it will be available in the Listen Again section of the website for the following 7 days.
