Annual event hopes to raise funds and spread awareness

More than £5,000 has been raised for initiatives that provide support and resources for those affected by Down syndrome.

Teddy’s Trundle is an annual event which was established by the parents of Island resident Teddy who has the condition.

Those with Down syndrome have some level of learning disability.

The event, on 23 March, brought together 22 friends and family who walked the 21km route from Peel to Douglas to raise money for Positive About Down Syndrome.

Despite concerns over poor weather forecasts, the rain held off, allowing walkers to ‘trundle’, albeit in ‘chilly’ conditions.

Organisers have surpassed their fundraising goal but donations will continue to be collected until 30 March.
