Opportunities for the Isle of Man amid current financial turmoil in Europe will be on the agenda at a seminar organised by Douglas-based law firm Appleby tonight.
The guest speaker will be Professor Joe Bannister, chairman of the Malta Financial Services Authority.
He'll give an outsider's view on the theme Debating Europe - Opportunities and Challenges for the Isle of Man, at Appleby's spring seminar at the Manx Museum from 5.30pm.
Professor Bannister will also speak about the reforms he's led within Malta's financial services sector, now said to be in a strong position to capitalise on the country's EU entry. The speaker has been a key figure in negotiations with the EU, OECD, IMF and supervisory organisations.
The seminar will be followed at 7.30pm with a champagne and canapé reception in the national art gallery.
