Thomas Miller invests in Manx wildlife

Staff painting observatory on Calf

Thomas Miller, an independent and international provider of insurance, professional and investment services is the latest Island organisation to become a Gold Investor in Wildlife.

Staff have already been to the Calf of Man to paint the Observatory.

Thomas Miller also donated the decorating supplies to help make the building brighter for the Wardens and Guests in time for the first guest arrivals.

The Calf of Man has been a Bird Observatory since 1959 and forms part of a network of Bird Observatories around the UK. It is owned by Manx National Heritage and from March to November two wardens, managed by Manx Wildlife Trust, live on the Calf keeping detailed records of bird migration and breeding, and making sure the Observatory and its grounds are maintained.

Ian Young, of Thomas Miller, says the company was delighted to have signed up to the Manx Wildlife Trust (MWT) Corporate Membership scheme and the recent trip to the Calf of Man allowed a number of staff to experience the unique environment that is has to offer.
