18-year-old threatened to smash wooden staff over his head
A teenager from Douglas has been fined £500 after threatening his flatmate’s boyfriend with a wooden staff.
Jack Frankland-Davies, of Loch Promenade, burst into the room the couple was in on 28 April telling the man: "I will smash this over your head."
At Douglas Courthouse the 18-year-old admitted displaying provoking behaviour at the property on Peel Road.
Frankland-Davies’ advocate told the court his client was aggrieved because the friends were being forced to give up their tenancy after the man was caught dealing drugs from the property.
"Things got out of hand," he said: "He accepts they shouldn’t have done."
“It’s out of character but he was very angry with [the man] because of what had happened over the previous couple of months,” he added.
Deputy High Bailiff Rachael Braidwood also ordered Frankland-Davies to pay prosecution costs of £50 telling him: "I understand you may have been angry. It is never right to take matters into your own hands."
