Array of events to appeal to all tastes

Plans are nearly off the page for an annual event popular with readers and aspiring writers in the Island, which opens later this month.

Manx Litfest 2017 will see visiting authors, illustrators and story-tellers gather for a celebration of literature, in a packed programme of events over six days.

Topping the bill this year, prolific best-selling author Alexander McCall Smith.

Regular features back for a sixth year include the schools' day, Press Gang for budding journalists, and a family day based on the Mr Men and Little Miss books.

New for this year, a hub for Isle of Man novelists at the Old Grammar School in Castletown (1 Oct).
