Amber weather warning in effect

The warning remains until 2pm this afternoon

From 7am this morning, an amber weather warning is in place, with forecasters expecting heavy rain to cause flooding in some parts of the Isle of Man.

It's predicted at low levels there is likely to be between 15-20mm of rain, and as much as 40mm over high ground.

As a result, Ronaldsway Met Office says this will lead to standing water and a risk of moderate localised flooding.

Douglas promenade, Laxey and Ramsey promenades, Shore Road in Rushen and Castletown promenade is likely to be affected by minor coastal overtopping which is predicted around high tide at 1.19pm.
