31-year-old tells court he was 'reckless' when visiting porn websites
An Andreas man has admitted possessing almost 60 indecent images of children on his computer.
Ryan Owen Pegg of the Larivane Estate pleaded guilty to six charges when he appeared before Magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The offences were committed between January 2018 and January this year.
Pegg's computer was seized following his arrest, with an examination of the device finding almost 60 indecent images of children had been deleted.
The images covered the full range of the Copine scale, which classifies the severity of the abuse in the images, including one moving image which was in most severe category.
The court heard Pegg has a porn addiction, and had downloaded the images by mistake while looking for other material, admitting that he was 'reckless' as to the type of websites he visited.
The case was adjourned until 17 August for a social enquiry report to be compiled, with Pegg bailed until his next appearance.
