Animal charity calls for ban on electric collars

Hopes new laws will prevent owners using them

The founder of Animals in Distress Isle of Man says she would like to see laws banning the use of electric collars implemented on the Isle of Man.  

England is the latest country to enforce the restriction on pet owners and trainers following on from France who made the ban at the start of the year.

Anita Williams told Manx Radio it's harmful for dogs and she would like to see the Island act quick to remove it:

Dr Michelle Haywood is a political member in the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture. 

She told Manx Radio the Animal Welfare Bill is due to go back to the Legislative Council for approval:
