Bishop weighs in on abortion issue

Calls to find common ground

The Island's Lord Bishop says 'some sort of agreement' must be reached between opposing sides of the abortion debate - but that will 'take as long as it takes'.

Speaking publicly for the first time on the issue, Peter Eagles said it was uncharted territory for the Island, and urged all to consider the 'depth of implication' in any change to the law.

He believes the most important points are providing support to those enduring unexpected or difficult circumstances, and tackling the 'root causes' of unwanted pregnancy.
