Traditional gift shop gains nomination
A long-established gift shop in Port Erin has been ranked among the best in Britain.
Mantons Cards is one of just seven companies to have been shortlisted for the 2018 Amazon Growing Business Awards.
The retailer has been recognised for its expansion, which in recent years has seen it grow physically, and offer bespoke design services to compete with online stores.
Chris Beards took over the shop from founder Tony Manton ten years ago.
He says traditional greetings cards, which are thought to be worth £2 billion to the UK economy, still have a place on the high street.
The award winners will be revealed at a ceremony in London on 28 November.
