Coalition presses need for engagement

Fresh contacts will need to be made

The election upset which produced a hung UK parliament, will see  renewed efforts by the Manx government to forge strong relations with counterparts at Westminster.

The chief minister says the policy of concerted engagement with politicians from all parties, will serve the Island well, if as expected, the Conservatives form a coalition at Westminster.

Howard Quayle says contacts have been made across the political spectrum, to promote wide understanding of the Island's position.

He says fresh contacts will need to be made as the UK's political landscape changes - while an existing network of influential supporters is maintained.
