24-year-old's case goes to Court of General Gaol Delivery

A man from Liverpool who denies unlawfully, and maliciously, inflicting grievous bodily harm on an Island resident will stand trial.

Finlay Lewis Laing, of Hope Street, has had his case elevated to the Court of General Gaol Delivery.

The 24-year-old denies punching another man, in Douglas, on 30 October last year – the court has previously heard the complainant suffered a skull fracture and brain haemorrhage.

Bail was granted and he’ll next appear at the higher court on a date to be set.

Update: At Douglas Courthouse on 10 November a trial date was set for 24 June.
