22-year-old also banned from the road for four years
An Onchan man who was arrested twice in the space of 24 hours for drug-driving has been banned from the road for four years and ordered to do community service.
Kian Joseph Price of Whitebridge Road pleaded guilty to two charges after he tested over the legal limit for cannabis on the 3 and 4 December last year.
The 22-year-old was initially stopped by police on Fort Street in Douglas after they found his number plate to be unreadable.
While talking to Price, officers found they could smell cannabis and asked him to take a drug wipe, which indicated he had taken cannabis.
The following day, Price was driving on Christian Road in Douglas when he missed a stop sign and pulled out in front of a police officer.
The officer pulled him over, and administered a drug wipe after seeing he had bloodshot eyes, which again showed he had used cannabis.
A probation report highlighted Price's eagerness to find work, and that he was willing to engage in community service.
Deputy High Bailiff James Brooks sentenced Price to 80 hours of unpaid work, handed him a four-year driving ban - after which he'll have to take an extended driving test, and ordered him to pay £250 costs.
