Cummal Mooar plans not scrapped insists Health Minister

Lawrie Hooper offers reassurance to residents and staff

It follows an announcement from Manx Care this week that the residential home would close in the next two years with its replacement not going ahead.

But Lawrie Hooper says his department's position is it should stay open until a new facility is built.

He says the delay is largely down to escalating costs:

Manx Radio has asked Manx Care to put forward a spokesperson for interview - it has declined the invitation.
