DEFA minister 'absolutely keen' on brownfield site development

But Barber says balance needed over development and preserving heritage

The Environment, Food & Agriculture minister says she's 'absolutely keen' to see brownfield sites on Island developed properly where possible.

Clare Barber also said this week that matter has also been a source of 'frustration' for some residents in her constituency for Douglas East.

The Island's planning system also falls under her departments remit and Mrs Barber believes they have to find a 'find balance' between new development and preserving Manx heritage.

The minister was also asked by Manx Radio for her thoughts on proposals to temporarily scrap the Isle of Man's work permit requirements:
