Delayed committal for Douglas men accused of producing heroin

Case now due to be committed to higher court on 24 October 

Committal proceedings in the case against two men from Douglas who have been accused of producing heroin to the Isle of Man have been delayed.

Frank Harrison, of Brisbane Street, and Shaun Robert Milligan, of Manor Woods, were due to have their case elevated to the Court of General Gaol Delivery yesterday (3 October).

They’ve been jointly accused of being concerned in the production of the Class A drug, and possession of it with intent to supply, on or about 17 July.

It’s alleged the heroin had a street value of between £37,000 and £75,000.

Mr Milligan, who is 47-years-old, appeared in court via live link from the Isle of Man Prison; 41-year-old Mr Harrison didn’t appear due to ill health.

Committal will now take place on 24 October instead; both men have been remanded at the Isle of Man Prison until that date.

 

Update: At the Court of General Gaol Delivery, at Douglas Courthouse on 12 January, both men had their cases adjourned to 2 February. 

Update: At the Court of General Gaol Delivery on 2 February Mr Harrison was told he will be sentenced on 9 February. 

Update: At Douglas Courthouse on 9 February Milligan was jailed for 11 years. Harrison was sentenced to seven years. You can find the full details HERE.
