DHSC enforces anti-infection policy

Staff urged to maintain effective hygiene

Health workers are being told to commit to reducing infection risks in hospitals and the wider community.

A new policy to improve safety, named ANTT (Aseptic Non Touch Technique), has been adopted by the Department of Health and Social Care.

It's aimed at minimising outbreaks of illness through a standardised hygiene routine.

An increased focus on hand-washing, as well as extra patient screening, successfully limited the spread of MRSA at Noble's after an outbreak in 2015.
