Dog mum's appeal for Manx public's help: "I just want him home"

Have you seen Eddie?

10-year-old Eddie has been missing for two weeks

A dog owner from Onchan is pleading with the public to help find her missing border collie and bring him home.

Ten-year-old Eddie slipped his lead in Ramsey two weeks ago today (9 January).

Despite numerous sightings of him since then – predominantly on the east coast of the Island – he’s still not been found.

The exact details of where the black and white canine has been spotted aren’t being made public; it’s so that well-meaning members of the public don’t risk spooking him and causing him to move on.

But people are being encouraged to keep reporting sightings so the search team can position ‘capture crates’ in the relevant locations.

Eddie’s mum Karen has described the former street dog from Romania as ‘very, very nervous’.

She believes he may be using a barn, or building, to shelter in during the day – or in bad weather – before travelling in the early morning, or at night, when it’s quieter.

Farmers, and anyone with land or outbuildings, are being asked to check their properties for any signs of Eddie, who first came to the Island in 2018.

Karen has described the situation as ‘devastating’ but praised the Manx community for their support so far.

She told Manx Radio it would mean ‘so much’ to find Eddie safe and well:

If you see Eddie please contact Karen, on 07624 463778, to report the sighting.
