Festival fetes Manx food and drink scene

Stroll, stop, taste, sample, sip - and enjoy!

The 2017 Manx Food and Drink Festival is the place to be if your taste buds are tickling this weekend (16 & 17 Sept).

The biggest annual showcase of Manx-made, grown, reared, baked, brewed, bottled or distilled produce has been doing brisk business on the first of two full days at the Villa Marina gardens. 

The event's been a driver for the burgeoning Manx food sector, offering dozens of local businesses direct contact with the public.

On offer throughout two full days, an array of produce to suit all tastes, from pies and pizzas, honey and hot dogs, to coffee, cakes and cocktails.

A food theatre is hosting live cookery demonstrations, alongside licensed bars, a produce marquee, craft stalls and live entertainment.

New to the festival this year is Ladies in Pigs, an organisation which promotes English, and now Manx-reared pork.

Chairwoman Sue Woodall says they aim to show the meat's versatility - and is hoping to tempt Manx taste buds with an unusual flavour combination:
