FoE dismayed at hydrocarbon exploration

Licensing round opens

The Island's branch of Friends of the Earth doesn't want the Island to encourage hydrocarbon exploration.

However, it would applaud wind turbines in Island waters.

The remarks come after government opened up the latest round of bids for offshore exploration for oil and gas in Manx waters, this time concentrating on hydrocarbons.

Pete Christian is a spokesman for the local Friends of the Earth.
