Food and drink drives inflation up to 9.1 per cent

Eggs up almost 60 per cent since March 2022

Inflation on the Isle of Man grew to 9.1 per cent for March 2023, up from 9 per cent in February.

'Food and non-alcoholic beverages' was the biggest contributor, with an increase of 17.9 per cent.

In that area, eggs experienced the highest rise at 57.8 per cent compared with a year ago.

'Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels' showed the second biggest increase, having risen 13.9 per cent compared with 12 months ago - though 3.3% compared with the previous month.
