Callister wants continued level of service
An MHK says the Department of Health and Social Care must ensure any new providers of 'meals on wheels' deliver the service to a high standard
Onchan member Rob Callister says Age Isle of Man provided food with a high nutritional value, as well as offering friendship and wellbeing to it's 300 clients.
He wants assurances this level of service will continue if a new provider is identified.
The Department announced from next year it would no longer fund Age IOM the sum of £150,000 required to deliver meals on wheels.
The Health Minister Kate Beecroft told the House of Keys this morning that the number of people using the scheme was falling, and her department was not obliged to pay for it.
