Gas consultation won't impact customers' bills, says CURA

Regulator issues clarification on how proposed changes would impact Isle of Man Energy tariffs

A consultation on changes to Isle of Man Energy's finances won't impact customers' bills.

That clarification has come from the Communications and Utilities Regulatory Authority as it seeks feedback on proposed changes to the cost of debt and working capital allowances for the Island's gas supplier.

The consultation opened earlier this month, with the clarification coming to ensure customers aren't unduly worried by reports of potential changes to tariffs.

CURA says there will be no changes to tariff before its next scheduled review of Isle of Man Energy's tariffs in December.

One of the factors being consulted on would mean a small increase to the tariff, but the other would result in a reduction, with the two offsetting any impact on the cost to Manx residents.
