Gas protesters want new laws in place of voluntary regulation

Issue to be raised in Tynwald

Those protesting over the price of gas are calling for new laws to regulate the Island's energy market. 

It comes as negotiations have been taking place between Manx Gas and the government over a new regulatory agreement.

Chris Thomas had been leading the talks on behalf of the Council of Ministers before he was sacked in recent weeks.

The Douglas Central MHK is raising the issue of gas regulation in Tynwald next week.
