Government has 'clean slate' to set new aviation strategy

Travel boss says there are 'unique' opportunities ahead

Government has a 'unique opportunity' to set up a new aviation strategy for the Island, if it's more proactive.

That's the message from a travel industry boss after news that Flybe could be returning to the skies in 2022.

The airline, which operated most of the routes between the Isle of Man and the UK prior to its collapse two years ago, will open a new base at Birmingham Airport next year.

Brian Kelly, the chairman of the Online Regional Travel Group, says there is opportunity ahead if government can decide on a new strategy:
