Growing sense of 'frustration and anger' towards small pay awards, says union

62% of Unite members accept new pay award

Trade union Unite believes there's a growing sense of 'frustration and anger' towards small pay awards in recent years among its members at the bottom end of the pay scale.

Sixty-two percent of its members in the public sector voted in favour of a 6 percent increase, but the union says the minority votes 'doesn't go unnoticed'.

It believes offering the rise across all pay grades is 'unfair' and results in a disparity between the lowest brackets and those - as the union describes - on 'movie star wages'.
