Heritage important, but chief minister says there's only a 'limited sum of money'

Cannan says we need to look at the wider Island Plan strategy

The chief minister insists his administration is investing in the heritage offerings here where possible, but believes there are bigger priorities that need funding first.

In his Island Plan, Alf Cannan has laid out plans to increase the number of people living and visiting here.

But he's been criticised in the past for allowing a number of sites to fall into 'disarray', which directly impacts the image people get of the Isle of Man.

Mr Cannan says he understands the value of our heritage, but it has to be put into the context of the Island's financial position:
