June inflation rises slightly

CPI stands at 4%, no change in RPI

There was a slight rise in inflation in the Island last month, according to the latest government figures.

The consumer prices index (CPI) now stands at 4% - up 0.1% from May.

Data from the Cabinet Office shows it's been a bad year if you drink tea - which has risen in price by 19.1% over the last 12 months.

However, it's not been so bad if you drink soft drinks, which have fallen in price by 4.4%.

Elsewhere, the Retail Prices Index (RPI) which measures a different basket of goods and services, remained the same month-on-month at 8.4%.
