KWC & BS top of class with LAMDA

All pupils got a distinction

Pupils at King William’s College and The Buchan School are celebrating after achieving outstanding results in examinations from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).

At The Buchan School, every child in Form 3 and Form 4 was entered for their choral speaking certificate – Grade 1 for Form 3 and Grade 2 for Form 4 – and all 61 pupils received a distinction.

Head of Drama at The Buchan School, Alex Duncan says it's a fantastic effort by the students and they're thrilled with the results.

At King William’s College, pupils entered exams for acting, public speaking, and speaking verse and prose, with levels running from Grade 2 to Grade 8.

Of the 40 exams entered, there were 25 distinctions, 14 merits and one pass, with one student, Marie Cilliers, gaining a distinction in public speaking in every grade up to and including Grade 8, whilst Henry Davies, sat three exams in the same session and gained two distinctions and a merit.
