Prosecutions possible under existing legislation says Minister
There are already laws in place to prevent the public display of offensive graphic material.
So says Policy and Reform Minister Chris Thomas.
He was answering a question from Douglas Central member Ann Corlett who was concerned over what she saw as "shock" tactics being used by pro-life group Abort67 in their demonstrations.
Mr Thomas said whilst there were no plans to introduce more legislation on the issue, existing legislation could be used to prevent displays of such material.
Mr Thomas said if any prosecution was made against people displaying offensive images, they could be made under these provisions.
