'Let's make a PACT' says founder of new mental health support group

Support group aiming to provide feedback to Manx Care

People on the Island are being urged to come together to help address the ‘mental health crisis’ on the Isle of Man.

Manx PACT – which stands for People Actioning Change Together – has been set-up to try and provide feedback to Manx Care.

It’s headed up by chartered secretary Juan Moore who has shared his own experiences of poor mental health in a bid to help others.

He told Manx Radio he’d been working with Manx Care as part of its ‘Experts by Experience’ forum but became ‘frustrated’ with the slow progress being made.

Instead he set up his own support group and is keen to hear from patients or users of wellbeing services with positive and negative experiences.

Juan told Manx Radio it seems ‘no one is listening’ to those at risk of suicide and has highlighted concerns between the timelines for people who can afford to pay privately and those that can’t:

Anyone who would like to share their thoughts with Manx PACT is asked to email Juan at enquiries@rcl.im.
