Ben Harris is fundraising to be able to help children in Uganda

A student from the Isle of Man is travelling to Uganda to help build a new school playground.

Communities in the country are heavily deprived and children able to attend school have access to limited resources - with some never having seen such a facility.

Ben Harris is currently studying computer science at university - he'll travel to Uganda for two weeks this summer and will also assist in running creative enrichment activities for the children.

Uganda sits on the equator and during summer months can see extreme humidity with average temperatures nearing 30 degrees celsius.

However that hasn't put off Ben who explains why he felt completing this work was important:

More information on the fundraiser to support Ben's work can be found here.
