MUA aids Ireland after Ophelia

Power outtages across Ireland

Work to restore power to thousands of homes

Manx Utilities has sent specialists crews to Ireland to help restore power to thousands of homes in the wake of Storm Ophelia.

On Monday three people died in the country as the ex-hurricane passed over, causing widespread damage.

Two over head line crews from the Island's utilities company are currently aiding Dublin-based provider ESB Networks in its efforts to restore supplies to 175,000 customers.

Chairman Alex Allinson MHK says he's glad Manx Utilities could help its Celtic cousins restore power after the devastating storm.
