Delays to Liverpool crossing

The Steam Packet Manannan has been forced to turn around midway into her journey to Liverpool this morning.

A passenger took ill onboard around half an hour into the crossing, requiring urgent medical attention.

The ferry returned to Douglas shortly before 9.30am, and set out to Liverpool again after the passenger was removed.

Day trip passengers and those who have had travel plans disrupted were offered the chance to disembark.

The incident has had a knock-on effect on further sailings today:

The 11.15am Liverpool-Douglas sailing will now depart at 1pm, with passengers asked to check in no later than 12.15pm;

The 3pm Douglas-Liverpool sailing will depart at 4.30pm, with passengers asked to check in no later than 3.45pm;

The 7.15pm Liverpool-Douglas sailing will depart at 8pm, with passengers asked to check in no later than 7.15pm.
