MHK calls on gov't to support a ceasefire in Israel-Gaza conflict

Says Island needs to be 'on the right side of history'

As the war in Israel-Gaza reaches its second month, many of us will have been moved by the shocking scenes from the ongoing conflict.

But on the Isle of Man, can we have any influence?

One MHK recently wrote to the chief minister, urging him to lend the Island's support for a ceasefire.

Joney Faragher says there have been instances of other small jurisdictions wading into international conflicts in the past.

The representative for Douglas East is calling on the government to put the Manx voice onto the international stage:

Phil Craine is a director at the One World Centre, a Manx charity that campaigns for a fair and sustainable world.

He also spent time in Israel in the 70s and thinks Israel and Hamas will eventually have to resolve hostilities.

He is hopeful we will see a solution that works for both parties:
