Treasury already plans to 'harmonise' both rates by 2025
The Manx Labour Party is calling for the Isle of Man's Minimum Wage to align with the Living Wage by April next year.
It follows the UK Government's commitment to raise its minimum wage to £11.44 by the same date.
The Isle of Man's rate stands at £10.75 - the Living Wage, which is described as the minimum pay necessary to allow people the basic opportunities and choices necessary for them to participate in society, is currently set at £12.01.
Treasury plans to 'harmonise' both rates by 2025, but the Labour Party says it believes this change 'can and should' be brought in sooner.
It says: "It is no secret that many Manx residents are currently struggling with the high cost of living and our high street is clearly feeling the pinch too."
