Almost 1,000 careless driving cautions

Police records since 2014 revealed via FOI

Police figures have revealed more than 900 people were cautioned for driving without due care and attention in the last 4 years.

The total number of cautions issued by the Isle of Man Constabulary since 2014, broken down by the type of offence with a brief description, have been released today via Freedom of Information request.

3116 formal notices were given out in total, with 924 occasions where Islanders were warned for driving recklessly.

Other outlying figures include more than a hundred cautions given each for using an unlicensed motor vehicle, being drunk and disorderly, and for possession of a class b drug. 

Cautions were also issued to 55 under 16's, and 58 youngsters under 17.
