New bishop looks to Manx ministry

Autumn arrival for Lord Bishop

The Island's new bishop says he plans to reflect on his new role at length, before moving to the Island in the autumn.

Peter Eagles, a former Archdeacon in the Army, was consecrated as Bishop of Sodor and Mann at York Minster on Thursday (June 22).

He must complete a number of formalities, including speaking to the Queen at Buckingham Palace this summer, before starting his ministry in Mann.

Bishop Peter Eagles says after the pomp and ceremony of his consecration, thoughts are now turning to his enthronement here in front of a Manx congregation:
