The DESC says it’s looking for a ‘highly motivated, inspirational and energetic’ school leader with the vision to lead the northern comprehensive ‘into the future’.

The salary ranges between £92,972 to £107,501.

It’s also offering to ‘cover a large portion’ of the relocation expenses for the successful applicant saying that it recognises that it can be expensive for people to move to the Island.

That includes help to pay their rent or mortgage with a housing allowance of up to £500 per month for two years as well as 70 per cent of removal or storage costs.

They’ll also receive financial help (up to £325 per adult and £140 per child) to pay for visits to the Island to view houses and the school.

If the successful candidate is someone who is returning to the Island and who had a student loan for tuition fees from the department the loan will be repaid on completion of two year’s work.

Applications for the position close on 3 May with interviews due to take place on 22 May.
