New judge of appeal appointed

Jeremy Storey QC

Successor to Geoffrey Tattersall

A new full-time Manx Judge of Appeal has been appointed.

Jeremy Storey QC succeeds Geoffrey Tattersall QC, who has held the role as judge of the High Court on a part-time basis for around 20 years.

A review of the job determined the change, which includes increased responsibilities for promoting the Island and its judiciary both locally and on an international level.

Mr Storey has been working as Acting Deemster on Island since 1999 - and now plans to move his wife and family here.

He's a Cambridge University graduate and a Deputy High Court Judge in England and Wales.
