No proxy or postal votes for local authority votes

Ramsey board seeking three new members

Voters in Ramsey won't be able to cast proxy or postal ballots if an election is needed to find three new members for the town's local authority.

Ramsey Town Commissioners is currently three members short in its north ward, and is accepting nominations.

At July's local authority elections, some Manx residents were unable to vote due to self-isolation - a rule which was changed for the General Election.

If more than three people put themselves forward, an election will take place on 25 November.

Clerk to the commissioners Peter Whiteway says last-minute proxy votes aren't an option for local authorities yet:
