Over £18,000 in fines for Income Tax and NI offences

17 businesses and 10 individuals penalised

Fines totalling more than £18,000 have been handed down to 10 individuals and 17 businesses for Income Tax and National Insurance offences.

Seven corporates were fined £9,530 for failing to pay Income Tax instalment payments and/or Class 1 NI contributions by the due date.

Three failed to comply with a notice to submit their company Income Tax returns and six were penalised for failure to comply with a notice to submit their accounts in support of a tax return.

One business failed to submit wage records as requested. 

Three individuals were ordered to pay total fines of £1,980 after failing to comply with a notice to submit accounts in support of a tax return.

Seven paid a total of £3,860 for failing to submit personal Income Tax return forms at the desired time.
