Patient simulator donated to hospital

Noble's Hospital has a new piece of training kit, the envy of many establishments twice its size.

Sim Man 3G is a state of the art patient simulator which can be programmed for a wide range of medical scenarios, such as heart attacks and strokes.

The full-size latex mannequin can also react to medical interventions, giving the Island's doctors, nurses and paramedics unrivalled training opportunities.

Sim Man cost more than £50,000 and has been bought for the hospital by the Isle of Man Medical Research Charity, to mark the retirement of its long serving chairman, former Deemster Jack Corrin.
