'Don’t forget to follow the country code' is the message from police, after a farmer made a complaint.
Officers say the farmer in Braddan claims gates to his fields are deliberately being left open, allowing cows to escape onto roads in the area.
A police spokesman says the irresponsible act could jeopardise the safety of motorists and pedestrians.
There is a reminder to the public that if a gate is opened, it should always be closed afterwards.
