Fifty-year-old power station to be decommissioned

Manx Utilities will explore renewable energy options for the Isle of Man "in the next couple of decades."

Chairman Dr Alex Allinson was speaking following the announcement that Ramsey Power Station is soon to be decommissioned.

It was set up almost 50 years ago - running concurrently with similar plants in Pulrose and Peel.

He says it's all part of a movement towards different, cleaner energy sources in the future:
