Residents want more protection for their communities in the Strategic Plan 

Officers from the Cabinet Office were quizzed on various topics that could fall into the new proposal

A public meeting was held last night to discuss the government's 'Strategic Plan'.

Residents in Arbory and Rushen quizzed two representatives from the Cabinet Office about the future of the parishes on what development they do and do not want to see. 

Questions were raised about windfarms, affordable housing and biodiversity - some of which fell to other government departments. 

Local Democracy Reporter Emma Draper spoke to a farmer who wants to see more protection for agricultural land and boundaries, but first she spoke to Ethan Grubb a senior planning policy officer in Cabinet Office:
