New ‘seasonal’ passes are among proposals being trialled from 1 May
People will have to pay more to park at Ronaldsway Airport if new proposals get the go-ahead.
The Department of Infrastructure is planning major changes with increases of up to 84 per cent for some time limits.
A 12-month trial will start on 1 May.
Free disc parking is being reduced from one hour to 15 minutes before payment is required - the fees will start at £3.
The only reduction to prices enables people to add additional days for £1 less than the current price.
Long stay parking would see a flat fee of £120 for 90-days worth of use.
The DoI says car parking charges haven’t been changed for seven years.
A consultation on the changes will run from Friday so the public can have their say.
Infrastructure Minister Chris Thomas said: “During the trial the department will monitor how people use the car parks and also the impact on parking around the airport.
“Parking is only one element of airport operations which is under review and in transition.”
