Search for missing Douglas man intensifies

Coastguard and police dogs called in

A substantial search is now underway in the Douglas area for a local man missing for over 24 hours.

Police dogs are being used in the wooded area  around the Nunnery  and a lifeboat is scouring the south-east coast.

56 year old John Bridson is a white male of medium height. When last seen, in Douglas on Monday, he had on dark tracksuit bottoms, a grey jacket  and a grey and blue jacket.

Coastguard members have been called in and are helping police, with police dogs, check a number of areas around the capital.

Douglas lifeboat was launched just before midday, first along the south-east coast, now heading north towards Laxey.

Police are asking members of the public with any information to contact headquarters on 631212.
